- What to do: Walk around the lake, visit the cliffside castle, and take a traditional pletna boat to the island.
- Local Tip: On your way there, stop at Vintgar Gorge to walk along the wooden pathways over the rushing Radovna River. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds.
2. Lake Bohinj & Vogel Cable Car (45 Minutes Away)
If you prefer raw, untouched nature over the textbook postcard views of Bled, Lake Bohinj is your paradise. Located deep within the Triglav National Park, it is peaceful and incredibly scenic.
- What to do: Swim in the crystal-clear glacial water, rent a kayak, or hike to the Savica Waterfall.
- Don’t miss: Take the Vogel Cable Car up to 1,535 meters. In the summer, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Julian Alps; in the winter, it turns into a boutique ski resort.
3. Krvavec Mountain: Hiking & Skiing (20 Minutes Away)
Krvavec is the closest mountain resort to Kranj. In fact, you can see the peaks clearly from the town.
- Summer adventures: Krvavec transforms into a green pasture perfect for hiking, fresh mountain air, and downhill mountain biking at the Bike Park.

4. Radovljica & Škofja Loka: Mediaeval Charm (20 Minutes Away)
